Board Member: Lisetta Coffin

At the YMCA, every story reminds us why our mission matters. Today, we'd like to share one that beautifully reflects the power of community, belonging, and giving back.

About two years ago, Lisetta Coffin joined our YMCA Board of Directors, but history, her connection to the YMCA started many years earlier when she was just a little girl.

Lisetta and her family moved here many years ago. Like so many families seeking a place to belong, they found the YMCA. It became more than just a building, it was a welcoming community where friendships were formed, confidence grew, and lasting memories were made.

Years later, when our community faced the challenge of preserving FoxCare Fitness, Lisetta answered the call. She stepped forward with a passion for ensuring that our community would continue to have access to the health and wellness services that so many people depend on.

Her leadership has been instrumental in helping Frank and the YMCA team work alongside our valued partners at Bassett Healthcare Network. Through that collaboration, we successfully secured what is now the Y Specialty Fitness Center and renewed our lease, ensuring that this vital resource will continue serving our community for years to come.

Lisetta's journey reminds us that the YMCA isn't simply a place where people come to exercise or swim. It's where lives are shaped, where communities come together, and where those who once benefited often return to help the next generation.
