Staff Spotlight: Meet Abby
Quite simply, Abby is one of the most remarkable people you'll meet in our community.
A lifelong athlete, Abby understands firsthand the positive impact organizations like the YMCA can have on people's lives. She knows that the YMCA is much more than a gym—it's a place where friendships are built, confidence grows, and community comes together. That's one of the reasons she chose to join our team: she believes in giving back and making a difference right here in Oneonta.
When she's not inspiring members at the Y, Abby teaches 3rd grade at Riverside Elementary School, where she brings the same enthusiasm, dedication, and encouragement to her students every day. She is also an accomplished CrossFit competitor and recently returned from a competition in Lake Placid, where she delivered an impressive performance.
Anyone who has met Abby knows she has an incredible ability to motivate those around her. She challenges people to be their best while always leading with kindness, positivity, and encouragement. Whether you're stepping into a fitness class for the first time or working toward a major personal goal, Abby has a way of making everyone feel welcome and capable.
Abby is also a proud mother of two. She and her family are always finding new adventures together, embracing an active lifestyle and demonstrating the importance of health, wellness, and perseverance. Her children have a wonderful role model who shows them every day what it means to pursue goals, stay healthy, and enjoy life's journey.
At the YMCA, Abby offers personal training, HIIT classes, and a variety of fitness programming. She's also developing exciting new programs for this summer, and we can't wait to share what's coming next. Be sure to follow our social media channels and watch for announcements in the weeks ahead.
Abby brings energy, expertise, compassion, and a true community spirit to everything she does. We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of our YMCA family.
Thank you, Abby, for all that you do. We are lucky to have you, and we can't wait to see the positive impact you'll continue to make in our community.
