Early Learners
Oneonta Family YMCA Jumpstart academic preschool programming is a perfect first step into your 3 year old's school experience! We focus on play-based activities that are crucial to every preschooler's development. With a variety of sensory experiences from arts and crafts to dance, yoga to cooking, and so much more, your child will explore the world around them in a safe and exciting learning environment that changes from week to week.
Monday – Friday Half Day programs from 7:30-11:30 am or 1-5 pm
Monday – Friday Full Day program from 7:30 am -5 pm
Oneonta Jumpstart UPK
Get your child “Kindergarten-ready’ with our Jumpstart Universal Pre-K program. Our classroom offers a comprehensive curriculum to meet the needs of the whole child. We offer experiential lessons in reading, science, math, art, and music... giving your child the basic skills they will need to get off to a great start in school! Our UPK program is free for those families who qualify for the Oneonta City School District UPK grant and for a weekly fee for non-eligible families. Children must be 4 by December 1.

Oneonta Jumpstart Preschool
Academic Preschool Programming for 3-5 year olds: Is your child ready for something a little different from a more traditional preschool experience? This morning preschool classroom is filled with Montessori-style activities to keep your child learning while they are getting ready for Kindergarten and beyond! We always offer a strong physical fitness component because we believe that joyful movement makes us all feel good and gives us the energy to learn. Our program differs from other programs because we incorporate Montessori-style 'tray-time' to help kids learn to work independently and to follow a process from start to finish- just some of the skills they will need when they go to Kindergarten...
