As 2017 will soon be here we wanted to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
Along with that wish, we would like to remind you of our offerings available here at the YMCA for 2017.
For January we have a fabulous selection of Wellness classes – something for everyone! Bikes-n-Bells is back, taught by Anna, as well as “Warrior Morning Mix” at 5:00 am for you early birds on Monday mornings, taught by Leandra. Be sure to check out our entire lineup of classes for January on our website!
Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither are you expected to jump into a new fitness routine on Day 1 and do too much or hurt yourself. Take it slow and be consistent about coming back. Start with 20 minutes a day (or every other day) of exercise to get your heart pumping (maybe the cardio machines or a new fitness class). If you are taking a fitness class for the first time, pace yourself and just do as much (or as little) as you feel comfortable doing. Don’t feel like you have to keep up with everyone else. Just keep coming back!
Finally, remember to drink lots of water, eat more fruits and vegetables this year. Try to cut out one night of fast-food in favor of “salad night” or “fish night”. Also try getting an extra hour of sleep each night for the New Year and you’ll be sure to feel a gradual change in your energy level!
