Giving Back to the Community

Giving Back to the Community

At the Y we believe in giving back to the community in several different ways. You will see many of our employees volunteering to serve in other community roles outside the YMCA. I have the pleasure of serving as President of the Future for Oneonta Foundation on my time off. This past week we held our Community Leadership reception at Foothills. It was a pleasure to honor Deb & Sid Parisian with the FOF Community Excellence Award for their family’s long standing contribution to the community through the work of the Pit Run and the Parisian Foundation. Also featured at the reception were the Property of Merit winners, whose properties best enhance the welcoming community of Oneonta.

Did you know that giving back is an important part of the Y’s work in the community? Powered by over 600,000 volunteers across the nation, the Oneonta YMCA’s volunteers logged 3446 hours in 2015 right here in our community, all making our neighborhoods safer and stronger. The Y is a positive force in the community and we ask you to please consider donating or volunteering to support our mission.
